OUR STORY

When Doc and Rose began building the Guzzardo name, Doc was a milkman. Daily, Doc would drive from Lincoln to Chicago delivering milk, and selling frozen pizzas on the side. What began as a side job selling frozen pizzas became the Guzzardo's restaurant of today. Doc bought what was formerly a horse stable and turned it into Guzzardo's Italian Villa in 1957. After 20 years of running the business, Doc stepped down and his son John and his wife Frankie took over. Following tradition, John and Frankie left the restaurant to their son Nick and their daughter-in-law Shelly after 20 years. Now, Nick and Shelly are preparing their son JT to run the family restaurant. Over 65 years and four generations, Guzzardo's still honors Doc by using his original recipes including the most essential Italian dishes on the menu: the pizza sauce and dough, the marinara sauce, and many more.
